Patient Focus

Oil on Canvas

100 × 120 cm

Patient Focus explores stillness, control, and intensity beneath the surface of the natural world.

Developed through a long process of refinement and observation, the painting focuses less on aggression and more on presence — the quiet psychological tension of a predator completely locked into its surroundings. Emerging from darkness through controlled layers of light and shadow, the tiger is intended to feel watchful, grounded, and deeply aware.

Rather than pursuing realism alone, the work aims to create atmosphere and emotional weight. Subtle transitions, restrained detail, and selective focus are used to draw attention toward the eyes and central expression, allowing the painting to unfold slowly the longer it is observed.

The title reflects both the subject itself and the process behind the piece — a study of concentration, patience, and sustained attention over time.
